A couple months ago, I sent a PCGS submission in with the assistance of our very own @C-B-D. The photographs are obviously his and are very accurate for the coins in hand, although, they might have a slight tendency to accent minor issues on these small coins. Since that time, these coins have also been sent off to CAC as part of a larger submission. What do you think? Feel free to GTG and CAC status on the following coins:

Sorry, too many. Very nice 1887 though :) (okay, I like all of them, especially the one with the cud).

I love your 1844 ("Orphan Annie"), and specially the 1863 (Civil War year - scarce!)

    I grade the 1844 F15 to VF 20, and the 1863 VF25 maybe VF30.

Who knows on CAC, good luck though!

What a nice group! They all appear to be "original" to me, the first step toward CAC approval. Good luck on the submission.

Sorry for the delay...I'm a little late to my own party. Here are the results after a run through both PCGS and CAC.

    1837 XF40
    1842o VF35 CAC
    1842o cud VF35
    1844 F15 CAC
    1863 VF30 CAC
    1869 VF35 CAC
    1886s XF45 CAC
    1887s rev #1 VF25
    1887s rev2 VF30 CAC
    1887 MS63 CAC

From a grading perspective, I was most surprised by the 2-42o dimes although strike issues are rampant on this issue and mine are no exception (just look at the reverse wreath on the first coin). I also thought PCGS was rather tough on the 1887s dimes and expected them both to CAC at the assigned grades.

Nice lot, man- makes me wonder how many seated dimes I’ve under graded and sold too cheaply. Something about Lady Liberty’s flat dome always makes me want to go low.

Looks like a favorable result though with all the beans- well done!

Weak strikes can be so misleading... I always look at Liberty's sandal line for completeness as well as the shoulder clasp above what would be her right breast to get an idea of grade on VF/XF coins...

Yeah a lot of the New Orleans coins are notoriously weakly struck. Or struck from worn dies They can be tough to grade. Pcgs has been brutally conservative lately why I went as low as I did on several
