There comes a point when what you want, you can not get from out of circulation........case in point.....as a young lad I needed an 1950D Jeff 5 cent piece. High and low, forth and back,search forever, I could not find one. Had to buy it........

If i remember correctly. When my sons first born. 2006. My firsrt 10 dollars of nickles i found a 50 d. Very first coin search move. The funny thing was i told my son i was putting a nickel book together for first grandbaby and he said 50 d was the king. Told him i had one and he came right over and took the book and has put every coin into that book since day one. Think the last coin we need is a 44s silver. We'll get that done soon i hope. But i did find a 2nd 50d. Only i need 11 more. To cover all others. Not my job

Back in my youth, such things were not currently available because they were vastly hoarded. Since then (50 years or more) these 'things' have been slowly released into general circulation. There comes a point when the 'general' collector must admit defeat and resort to 'purchase' in order to complete a series of coins. It ain't the old days anymore.

 

I hate Buffalo........It's tantamount to the Three Stooges 'Niagara Falls'........

Yeah i agree. But I'm in this bussiness to collect for my youngins. Coin collecting is getting so hard that its not collecting anymore. Its buying from the mint collecting. Hey were all older then most. Can't you see its more towards bussiness and you know,then fun. It's fun for my grandbabies now. What happens when granny just can't do it anymore. You think these children will contact the mint and spend there hard earn money on coin while trying to start a fAmily of there own. Lets face it. You can eat a proof set
