The American Innovations dollar series 1st issue goes on sale at noon eastern. No whining when you skip it and it goes big. I will be buying, TO OPEN, a roll each of P and D, and doing my grading thing with all of them. Maybe 5-ish proofs, too.
UATD - unknown at this date - no stated mintage limit (Here's the cool part - that means there will be FEWER, not more of them) To me, it does not matter. This one is unique to 2018. The "regular" series will be 4 per year, in State Quarter (not ATB) sequence.
Thanks for the info, Kurt. Just for giggles, I ordered some rolls and proofs. I'll keep them unopened for a while to see if anything special happens to them.
I'm guessing they went with 4 per year because the Mint had all those leftover "lenses" from the Presidential dollars that went unsold in proof sets.
1 roll P. 1 roll D. 5 proofs. Just over a C-note. I will be putting some of the best of each in Saflips. The absolute BEST of each gets NGC prison. [Yeah, I'm so far behind on ATB San Fran bags already. ]
Having a hard time finding a list/pictures of all designs approved so far... or is this the only one they've announced...?
Designwise, yes. The dates are set. I'm a serious numismatist who works in state government. The Pennsylvania one is 2019. The Governor's office is about 200 feet away, as the crow flies. He hasn't even CONVENED the Pennsylvania design advisory group yet. Are you getting the idea that proof and uncirc. sets are gonna be late this year? Yeah, me too. We may need to resign ourselves to the Congrats and Birth proof sets for a longer haul this year.
I've already seen some dollars with the stature of liberty obverse and some new fancy reverse. What have I been seeing? Its not a presidential nor a sac and its new
Not possible. Everything SO FAR is either a Sac/NA or a Prez. The only other type went on sale a little over an hour ago.
