A slight numismatic rant.

I may have said this before, but since it crossed my mind I may have to tell the world again.

My unofficially diagnosed OCD makes coin collecting more difficult.
    Here are the effects:

    • I don't like a set of coins with different TPGs, With me, its all NGC, all PCGS or none at all
    • I can't feel content with a set that is partially certified and partially raw, again, all or nothing,
    • If I have a set, I really don't like any outliers, I can't have a set of all MS65s and one MS66
    • I can't have all blast white uncirculated and then one toned coin.
    • Never got into proof sets because different coin years are different color packaging,
Someone save me. I'm going crazy...

My "if we were in a perfect world" coin set
1849-1906 Liberty Head $20 Gold Coins, all MS66 in NGC soapbars.

    Can anyone relate?
    Am I just being petty?
    Is there a miracle cure?

    All comments and questions welcome....

I have got to admit that I do not have this particular affliction, but I have known a few people who did. If you look back over this list, you can see that it isn't completely reasonable...:) If you could possibly get out of this, it would probably be a good thing. One thing that occurs to me is to get an album for state quarters and try to fill it with coinroll hunting and pocket change finds. If that gets too irritating, you can always just spend them, if you start to enjoy it, it may loosen you up a bit. Whatever, always remember us here on CT and know that we are all behind you.

I agree with Kentucky. I was getting obsessed with CRH for silver halves. I was really starting to get irritated on my last skunk streak. Then I remembered I had many holes to fill in my Presidential Dollar album and started searching small dollar rolls again. It was actually fun and triple the possibilities as I also need some SBAs and Sacs. I guess the point is to try something out of your wheel house and shake things up a bit. Plus, when I pop out a hard to find coin that I need and put it in my album it feels like I'm winning!

Oh by goodness. If I thought this was reasonable, I wouldn't be explaining myself. And I noticed it is not just coin collecting, I have about 4-5 Rubiks cubes that I literally have as an stress reliever. Taking a messed up blob of color and fixing it.
But that one is more intentional

They just frustrated me horribly until I just peeled off all the little color thingies and stuck them back on in order...(just kidding).

I'm afraid I couldn't afford your OCD tendencies. I'd be more picky, but my budget sets my limitations :p

    Loved it !!

You know Andy Griffith and Don Knots worked together for many, many years on many different projects.

In many of Andy's roles he played the comic and others played the straight man, but anytime Don Knots came into the picture the roles were instantly reversed.
I grew up with those guys as I think many of us did.

No need to remove the stickers.. You can actually take a Rubik apart and then snap the cube together. Much neater this way ;)

It must be Self-diagnosed. If you tell yourself "I can't" then "you can't".
It has nothing to do with Numismatics.

We all have our pet pees . You are young and have to learn to deal with issues that come your way . My cancer has done many things to my body and brain . Last time I did the long term memory test, we were going after Albert Einstein record . His record has never been touch, it's 35 words .

To make a long story short, I beat his record with ease .

You are not being petty. I do not know about the crazy part (ha, ha), but I can partially relate because I spend thousands of dollars on coins I later get bored with. I still love my moderately expensive U.S. type set for commerce from the 20th century to the state quarters more than all my other collections.

I can relate. I go over the scenarios over and over and it all comes out the same. Must......Have......Same......With.....>Same! PCGS-NGC-Rolls-MS?? It limits me but I know I'll give in here some day!
