I think it's from the kingdom of the Maitrakas of Valabhi, c.470-800 AD. This seems to be of the later part of the period (based on the style of the trident); all coins in the series have the name of the founder Bhattaraka despite being issued for several centuries. See Mitchiner, Ancient and Classical World, #4892-4896.

Yes, that's the dynasty. Unfortunately, as I mentioned all the kings of this dynasty used the same inscription, so it's impossible to attribute these to a specific king. Based on Mitchiner, the style of trident on your coin (curved outer tines, and a side projection from the middle of the shaft) indicates it is from the later part of the dynasty, but that's as specific as anyone can get. Still a pretty cool coin, and the price (free) is hard to beat!

Wow, what a small world. I sold that coin to your buyer a handful of months ago - I'd recognize that bean-shaped flan anywhere!

It was a $9 coin, shipping included, so a very nice gift!

Maitrakas of Vallahbi is correct; I don't think anyone has been able to sort out when each style was made, but yours is a middle or late style.
