i have a 1967 no mint liberty half dollar I believe is silver or has silver in it. My question is does anyone know how much ones suppose to weigh? And is this a rare find or no?

Hi @SharonNicole ! Welcome to coin talk! It depends on who you are asking if it is a rare find. If you got it in change, yes. I've only ever gotten 1 silver coin in change in my entire life so far. If you ask a roll hunter who looks for these you may get a different answer. They are still out there for the finding but it's always exciting when you do find one. Where did you find this one if I may ask? I had to edit this before I get smacked..... The coin itself is not rare by any means, what I was describing above is possibly the method you found it. My apologies.
A very nice find and it's 40% silver so it's a keeper. No Mint mark occurs on this as it's a Philadelphia Mint. Welcome to CT.

All 3 mints produced these half dollars from '65-67 with no mint marks. You can't tell which mint struck them unless you have provenance from the mint for a mint set or SMS set. From what I understand, they made SMS sets intead of proof sets for these 3 years. In 1968 Denver began putting their mint mark on halves, and San Francisco put their mint mark on Kennedys when they began regular proof production after the hiatus...Spark
They have no mintmarks because NONE of the mints used mintmarks from 1965 through 1967. It was the governments way of trying to keep coin collectors from hoarding coins during the coin shortage that was going on then. While you can't tell which mint made the 1965 or 1966 halves, you CAN tell which one made the 1967's. Because in 1967 ONLY the Denver mint made half dollars. You can also say that you know the 65's and 66's can't be Philadelphia coins. Philadelphia made NO half dollars between 1964 and 1971.
