Is it me or does it seem 1950s had problems with word liberty

    The BIE cent is very common as the die has just a sliver of metal to make the separation between the B ( which is near vertical ) and the E ( which is vertical). Overuse f the die often had that metal portion breaking off and producing the effect. Jim

    Yes.. Common in the 1950's
