Anyone putting down a collecting plan for US coins in 2019? Your humble narrator sees more of his attention going towards old US gold. The dollars don’t go as far, but they are wonderful coins. I doubt seriously, though, that silver dollars will completely drop off the mat.....
*Focus on and save for the remaining Key Date Dimes I need. *Stop buying so damn many semi key 1921 Mercs. *Try to refrain from impulse 1916-D purchases, unless they have superior eye appeal at a reasonable price. *Don't get distracted buying coins from other series and denominations I don't collect.
2019 proof set clad and silver Apollo commems Rolls of American Innovations. Whatever war related commems I can get my hands on and misc classics in good condition.
In 2019 I would like to complete a year set of Two Cent Coins. Small date run and most were minted in enough quantity to be accessible and affordable.
Start working on an Unc Washington quarter set. Also keep plugging away to slowly fill the missing pieces in my modern commems.
My year will start at the Fun Show in January. I hope to find a really nice Bust Quarter. Maybe a few Bust Half dollars. I may come home with nothing.
All the Apollo commems various ASEs various pre1800ish coins fill in a few old Silver Half commems that I don't have get a bigger SDB
I too have the Apollo commems at the top of my 2019 list..... I been impulse buying gold & silver in 2018. I believe I am going to pair down my gold purchases in 2019 and limit the gold to hunting down some Charlotte and Dalhonehga struck examples.
Buy gold and silver as close to spot as possible. In the process hope to find interesting things that I enjoy collecting.
Work on the "first page holes" in my Mint State Washington Quarter set. Fill a few more literal 7070 holes. Try to get to England to rummage about. Keep breathing another year. Pretty much sums it up. Oh... yes..., CONTINUE to relentlessly mock "bullionistas", preppers, and sovereign debt phobics, at every opportunity I get. Remind Rosland Capital ad watchers that despite crawling around on battleships in ads, and playing military figures in really bad movies, William Devane never actually served in the military. He went to acting school, apparently to con people into buying gold. Work on my worldwide set of aluminum coins, just to confound the "all money is silver or gold" crowd. You know, just be a jerk about things in general. Same ol', same ol'.
Old gold as well, plus 3 more Morgans to complete my version of a Morgan set (a year set and 1 from each mint: 1878 CC, all the O-mints (1879-1904), 1921 P,D,S = 30 coins).
Since I have already spent thousands of dollars on early commems, modern commems, and misc. types for my U.S. type set, my collecting goals for 2019 will be minimal.
Start working on building a complete set of American Siver Eagles. Fill in holes in my circulated coin books. Work on acquiring some cameos. Buy better coin storage solutions. Along with some displays for nicer coins. And anything else I can think of that sounds fun!
