So awesome. One day 25 years or so from now I'll be reading a thread where some young collector is crying tears of joy over the coins that Shrews sent... But today the joy is deservedly yours. Your excitement for the hobby is a joy to watch. I think it reminds all us old coots how we once felt when we held a perfect uncirculated coin in our hands. Admiring the simple perfection and void of the judgement that the years imparts on us.
I have an almost complete set of Mercs, but very few Roosevelt dimes. What strikes me about the Roosevelts is that they seem to resist wear fairly well. I've pulled three out of circulation just within the past year, two '64s and a '52D, and all three appear to be just a small bit off from being AU. The Mercuries are just the opposite; even those from the Forties show lots of wear comparably. If I remember correctly, this was the case even into the 1960s when there were still many of them in circulation.
