I'm definitely a rookie but I just got this at a mini Mart. Cleanest wheat ive gotten in change. Any idea if it's worth much?
Also found those 55s at same store the inside 5 looks fatter to me. Not sure when I actually have something so any input appreciated.
Aside from the two Wheat cents, that's all "spender" stuff worth face value. For no particular reason, I do keep pre-1960 nickels like that 1959, even though they aren't worth but five cents. Nice Wheatie finds.
Nice finds for a coin that’s been bouncing around for 63 years. If you are going to continue collecting, do yourself a favor and pick up the Redbook of US Coinage. It will tell you all you need to know about US coins.
Those are nice looking wheat cents. the One with the Fat fives are a Die Chip. It happens when a small piece of the Die breaks away. http://www.error-ref.com/die-chips/ The two you have were probably found way back in the "55" Double Die search and where saved at that time and have been in a collection since, they found there way back into circulation from a recently redeemed collection. If you look closely at each one it may be determined that they where both struck with the same die. I think the chances are really good for that. Die Chips don't add much value, and they are nice examples to keep.
