Could have been a full step nickel but the bottom step bleeds through the second step so it's not. But over all a very nice war nickel! 1116.jpeg 1121.jpeg 1122.jpeg 1118.jpeg IMG_20181206_104634727.jpg IMG_20181206_104636141.jpg IMG_20181206_104653850.jpg

Not quite Mint State, as it appears at first glance, but indeed nice. Circulated War nickels usually assumed a grey-green or grey-brown appearance after enough time in circulation wore them down below the middle grades. It has something to do with the unusual 35% silver alloy.

That one lightly circulated, but not enough to go dark like most of the more worn ones.

That is still a full step Nickel. PCGS would give it the FS designation as they only require 5 steps and NGC would give it 5FS as opposed to 6FS.

The luster is hard to evaluate from your photos but it looks mint state to my eye. The marks are plentiful however and this coin would grade MS63 5FS. If the luster is better than photos show it might go MS64.
