Good going on the upgrade. It's a sharp looking coin for sure. The old one is not bad either.

Very, very nice upgrade! You'll be pleased with that one a long time to come. What's the status on your 12 Caesars? I know you completed it (under $3,000) so are you now upgrading?

Tiberius, Augustus, and Claudius were always going to be upgraded and the lesser specimens sold off. Eventually I want to have several samples of different varieties of denarii and bronze coinage for each of these emperors, but that's in the long term future and not something I want to do now.

Galba is also going to get upgraded, though I have no plans at all to sell the lesser specimen I have of his...this very rare quinarius. For some strange reason this beat up little coin pleases me a lot (so much character), so it won't get sold when I upgrade to a nicer coin of his.

I really like that Galba. The good news is that when you are ready for another Galba there are some very interesting ones available in auctions.

Nice... I think that's pretty much the definition of an upgrade. :)

The most remarkable thing about mine is probably that it was from a group lot. But I do like the dark cabinet toning, as well as the corrupted old lecher look of the portrait.
