1968 quarter missing the D or P

    It depends on the condition, but if it's in pristine uncirculated condition, possibly up to $10. The mint did not begin using the P mintmark on coins until 1979.

    so then it is common not to have the D or P? no it is circulated..

    I don't know much about coins, but after I found one of the down leaf wisconsin quarters I check my change NOW lol

    Circulated 1968 Philadelphia quarters are worth four for a dollar. There were almost 221-million of them minted, all without a mint mark.

    The first quarters bearing a P mint mark were the 518-million plus produced in 1980.

    Washington quarters minted at Denver have carried the D mark since inception of the design in 1932.

    The coin is from the Philadelphia mint, they did not have a mintmark in 1968.

    Get a "red book". United States Coins by RS Yeoman from Whitman.

    Did you read this thread? If it is a circulated coin just spend it, there is no collector value.

    In other words, that coin hasn’t gained any value in the nearly 14 years since this thread was open.
