    This is the first new addition to my bear coins collection in awhile. And the best part is, I didn't pay that much over the spot price. On the scan it looks like there's some discoloration on the queen but that doesn't show on the coin. I think it's a trick of the light. 2017 Canada 8 dollars.jpg

    This is a 1966 proof medal commemorating the 10th anniversary of the Freedom Fighters (Hungarian Revolution) 2000 minted

    Hungarian commission authorizes
    I haven’t translated the other side

    It says the 10th anniversary of the Hungarian revolution. It also says essai (pattern) but in Hungarian it would read probaveret instead.

    These medals came in a case. Here's a picture of the inside inscription. In English - perhaps this committee was a group of expats who commissioned the piece abroad?
