This is the first new addition to my bear coins collection in awhile. And the best part is, I didn't pay that much over the spot price. On the scan it looks like there's some discoloration on the queen but that doesn't show on the coin. I think it's a trick of the light.
1978 New Zealand one dollar silver proof. Actually bought it months ago, then lost track of it here at home. It was a nice surprise to find it yesterday.
A new pickup for my ambitious FJ Austro-Hungarian florin/forint full set. Austria 1877 AR Florin NGC MS65 KM-2222 (1872-1892)
This is a 1966 proof medal commemorating the 10th anniversary of the Freedom Fighters (Hungarian Revolution) 2000 minted Can anyone tell me where this coin was minted? Thanks
That’s what I thought, but magyar bizottsag felhatalmazasabol Translates to Hungarian commission authorizes I haven’t translated the other side
It says the 10th anniversary of the Hungarian revolution. It also says essai (pattern) but in Hungarian it would read probaveret instead.
These medals came in a case. Here's a picture of the inside inscription. In English - perhaps this committee was a group of expats who commissioned the piece abroad?
A friend recently came back from a visit to the US and he brought me a bag of mixed world coins. Here are some of the more interesting examples.
Picked up this one today as an upgrade for my James I Sixpence: So nice to get a decent portrait for a change!
