For me, 2018 surpassed 2017. I ended up adding 92 coins, 80 AV 2 Platinum 1 Paladium 8 AR (all denari)

    Ancients 25
    Medieval/ Renaissance 18
    1500-1800 21
    1800-present 28

So, cutting grass in the awfull hot Summer paid off with some neat additions/ plus ice cold Coronas make those 14 hour days in the heat tolerable:happy:

My New Year's resolution is to make 2019 even better:cigar:

Carausius Brother, can you spare a sestertius?

Productive year for you! Congratulations. Year isn't over for me yet. I have my eye on a few more targets between now and mid-December.

I am crossing my fingers that you get them!:) I sent off my banknote collection (270 notes) to Heritage. Now, at least I will have some funds for their January Signature Sale. I forgot completely, but I have a proxy bid on their HK Signature Sale, a AV Mohur from the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb.....so it could be 93:)

Ah yes, 2018 I got my first flying egale cent, as well as a few more silver dollars a few morgan and a peace. I also got myself a nice 1883 v nickle to add to my type set. But best part was the extensive amount of additions to my bank note collection, both world and US!

Less than a week into 2018, I bought a very tough coin and said to myself, "if this is the only coin I manage to buy all year, it will still be a fantastic year."

Somehow, I've added 23 others... roughly six of which I'd say are in my overall top 20. Coins just somehow managed to come out of the woodwork: I ended up purchasing more privately than at auctions.

I'll firmly rank 2018 as my best year yet and there's still a few weeks to go!

2018 was fantastic. I've purchased more coins this year than in recent memory. I'll post my top 10 list after Saturnalia -- my Secret Saturnalia gift might just turn out to be on my top 10 list!

I'm currently at 72 coins for the year but we have hopes for the next two weeks. I don't count a coin until it arrives so things bought after that will probably not arrive until after New Year's Day.

Overindulgence... The one word I can use for my 2018 coin purchases. And I blame this fever on my CT membership...;)

Your commitment to the hobby of collecting beautiful ancient and rare coins is inspiring, @panzerman! I too have acquired many of the coins that have been on my wish list this year. (I'll post them here shortly)

I try not to keep count so I have plausible deniability when my wife asks. It's been a good year though :)

2018 was my best year. Albeit, just my second year. :)

Same thing, but I'm accountable to my parents, and my school to whom I pay tuition fees. :bucktooth:

I would rather call it, "best money ever spent" And, I cannot blame CT, my fever started when I was 8, just keeps on getting hotter and hotter:) The only remedy for this ailment....more nice coins! like this AV Dukat fom Danzig 9199c8db8c6fa07d42b6fb0ffa7dbaf1.jpg

2018 was an excellent year for me. I was able to complete my second 12 Caesars in silver. I added a lifetime portrait of JC which will definitely be in my top ten. I added a second Otho denarius. I was able to add significant coins to my other 2 collections-Historical Figures as dramatized by Shakespeare, and the family of Eleanor of Aquitaine. There were other acquisitions which made me happy but the ones above made my year.
