both are very nice looking coins, but if you can excuse my pickiness, I think the Trade Dollar is more of an AU 55 or 53 than a 58, I see light but widely distributed wear on the devices and fields. Contrast with this AU58 (formerly in a NGC 61 holder) which shows slight wear in the fields. (Sorry it's an S/CC, I don't have an S in 58). 1875 s over cc obv.jpg 1875s over cc rev.jpg

Don't think I've posted this one here yet. My newest type set addition that I'm super happy to have found since I've been after a Coronet Head example for some time and this one checks every box for me. The largest box being that booming luster which doesn't seem like it should be possible on a 180 year old copper coin but here we are...

Last week I had a lot of interesting coins pass through my hands (and into my pocket)

    First I had 2 40% halves (1967 and 1968) and a 1941 quarter in a bank roll.

    IMG_20181125_201207769.jpg

Then I found 2 2015 proofs, a half and gold dollar

    IMG_20181128_170045831.jpg

    another proof dollar

    IMG_20181202_103337875.jpg

and another half with 4 quarters. Someone broke up a lot of proof sets to pay their tolls with

a silver dime, buffalo and war nickel

a mercury dime in a bank roll

    and a 1976 silver quarter

    IMG_20181202_103455973.jpg

I've been saving these quarters for a customer who collects the, I have given him probably 30 rolls of them but this is the first silver on I have ever found. This one I'm keeping

    Awesome coin!

...and the perfect companion as far as color and luster for your MS Braided Cent if you still have that one!

Very cool finds! And on a side note I just searched through all my bicentennial quarters and none of them were silver.

Still got it! Might be my two favorite coins and both came from same seller as it turns out.

I can't quite tell from your photo, but is that a die scratch running diagonal through the eyelid? The placement of the mint mark matches Vam-3.

I’m not sure about the die scratch, but from the pictures I can find, the mint mark is spot on.

Where did the VAM site go? I’m not a Vammer normally.

I’ll second the 55 grade on the trade. I see a touch more wear ad less luster Thani want to see on a 55

Both outstanding. I have the 1851 counterpart in my type set 1D2943E2-470C-4897-BB4A-FA503D9A020E.jpeg 577DA902-E878-419D-9510-610524ACC518.jpeg
