My grandpa introduced me to collecting when I was little and I have happy memories
sitting at the kitchen table plugging folders with pocket change. So, I was really excited to sort though this box and organize everything.

Grandpa was more of a silver stacker than a collector, the majority of the value in the full collection was bullion and several bags of junk silver. However, there were multiple albums of various denominations and some lose coins in flips. Given the broad mix of types I was inspired to start a 7070 set to showcase the more interesting coins.

    Some of the highlights:
    -1928 Peace Dollar
    -1938 D Walking Liberty Half
    -1949 S Franklin Half
    -1798 Draped Bust Cent

Most of the coins here are from my grandfather, my additions so far:

    -1859 Seated Quarter -LCS purchase
-1876 CC Seated Dime-Flea Market dealer
-1964 Silver Roosevelt dime- Coinstar reject find

Hope to keep this thread updated as I make future additions. Thanks to @CircCam for encouraging me to post. Thanks!

Thanks! There was also a 1794 cent in large cent album, that one is really cool! Unfortunately no slot in the Dansco for that.

Agreed, that caught my eye right away. I don’t own any 1700’s US coins but hope to someday. Great looking set @gbandy ! Looking forward to seeing how it evolves. That new seated quarter looks nice in there as well.

Nice set! looks like you have a lot of fun times ahead of you hunting down coins to fill out your collection!

My grandfather also introduced me to collecting, back in 1986.

If you want an album with additional slots, try the Whitman two album set from a few decades back. Be warned: it's MUCH harder to fill than the Dansco 7070! Seriously, who has the money to go buy a Flowing Hair Dollar or a small eagle Draped bust half? Sheesh.

I was thinking about adding the gold page to this after I finish. No doubt it will be a multi year project!

You sure can get a lot of advice around here about how to fill those commemorative half dollar holes. I’ll start by suggesting a Texas centennial (1934-38).:D

I like that one! I’m also planning to get the California Exposition. Would love suggestions for the fourth spot.

I used to live in Cincinnati, so was considering the Music Center commem, don’t love the design much though. It does have an interesting backstory.

I'd suggest an Oregon Trail but there are several good choices.

Nice! I have yet to see a 7070 set I didn't like. They're fun in any grade range.
