I've been thinking of buying this coin for decent price if it will straight grade. Would love to hear everyone's opinion thank you
I can't tell from those photos, but I'm leaning towards NT. How much is this coin listed for raw? I wouldn't pay much of a premium unless I was confident that the toning is NT and that the coin would grade at least MS65 with a chance at premium gem. Nobody collects certified Jefferson Nickels below GEM no matter how good the color.
I've been thinking about purchasing this coin for a reasonable number for a while. I'm hesitant because of all the questionable color coins the come out of PCGS. What do you think AT or NT?
Does it come with a shovel? Seriously though, I can't see the surfaces of the coin, what grade to you realistically think it could get?
and honestly just say on the coin is in b u shape but they should not go for any premium if she don't go for minimum Max$0.50
It's a 1964 nickel. If it jumped out of the 2x2 and whistled Yankee Doodle, spontaneously spun on its edge and stayed there, and cured communicable diseases, it's still just a crummy 1964 nickel. PCGS would laugh at it.
Opinion? It's pretty, but as @V. Kurt Bellman mentioned in a snarky but hilarious way, it's still a 1964 nickel. They made a little over one BILLION of them. (I think that makes them the most common date for the series, with the exception of the 1964-D, which had a mintage of 1.7 billion.) So one would have to be very, VERY special to be worth much. Nice toning? Sure. Worth a few bucks if you like it enough. It is indeed attractive. Fifty bucks? No way. Never.
Looks like rim damage above his head, 2x2 is bent and staples are not flattened which seems careless of the seller. Way too much $. You can get a nice set of war nickels for that price.
And 1931 S nickel. had the lowest mintage but yet is Easily available in mint state. I see common date coins with great color go for ridiculous money
I remember seeing a "magic trick" in the mid and late 60's to ask someone to pull a nickel out of their pocket...do a quick Carnac The Magnificent impression and "predict" that the date was 1964, that's how common they were.
Yes.... Heed the esteemed members advice above. Please don’t drop fifty for that nickel. I understand when a coin gets you down deep. But no way under the sun should that command a fraction of that kind of money.
I love the toning! If it were a couple bucks, go for it. I agree with the rest though, not worth $50.
