But they saw it in hand, and they are the experts. ;)

So the quarter eagle could be a mistake.

I have no idea. They could very well honor their guarantee. Or they could could claim “mechanical error, since it is “obvious.”

Hence, mistake, they saw it in hand and missed it. This is the most compelling coin you have posted in regards to TPG mistakes.

Again, the obvious nature of a mechanical error is in conjunction with a typo on the label. It doesn’t mean that a coin that is obviously misgraded qualifies as a mechanical error.

If you don’t believe me, ask them.

Highly unlikely, a coin of that magnitude would have been graded by the best graders. They saw the issues and decided that they were not severe enough to warrant a details grade.

Your interpretation of mechanical error is consistent with the way most would define the term; however, it is PCGS that ultimately decides what qualifies as a mechanical error. To be frank, they have shown an inclination for not honoring their warranty in other ways (e.g. retroactively killing the copper color guarantee, changing spot guarantee, publicly disclaiming and refusing to honor the guarantee of a grossly over graded coin at auction, etc.). They no longer cover putty removal under the guarantee. I don't trust them, and I think the company has given collectors a good reason to distrust them.

The copper thing was a business decision. I think they thought it could destroy the company if they didn’t. The putty thing on gold is really tough because it’s almost impossible to see when first applied. I’m not sure what they could realistically do about either of these.

I was in the mechanical error pickle once. I bought an MS67 Jefferson Nickel from just an obverse photo that was really dark. Turn out to be a proof coin that they labeled MS instead of PF. I think it’s crap!

You cannot rewrite a contract to benefit you after the other party has performed. It doesn't matter whether the original business decision was sound or not. It should have written a better contract/guarantee to begin with (like NGC did).

    Edited: Original post too technical.

Last I knew he was working for heritage which some of the big fish in a fish tank have criticized and does post on the NGC forum still. He also have posts trying to help educate people how just because they don't like a grade it is wrong.

But again trying to have factual intellectual discussions just isn't going to happen with some

For the sake of the hobby can you and pickin and ddd and heavy volunteer your services to PCGS/NGC and CAC please? Experts such as your self have to have so much to offer, go tell Laura at Legend you will work for free for her for our benefit. I assume your reputations and expertise is not only in high demand but without question

Heck with the expertise you guys must have you could probably teach @Insider a lot right?

Funny post. Don’t like others questioning you so just throw out nonsensical statements.

    Let’s follow @Lehigh96 questioning:

What have you done for this hobby?

How many posts do you have on the CU forum?

Which experts can vouch for your accomplishments?

We were discussing your experience on the CU forum in relation to your assertion that they were a bunch of ban happy sycophants. I never said there was a correlation between count post and contribution to the hobby.

All of those quotes are accurate and relate to the fact that the CU forum has more experienced & more knowledgeable members than Cointalk.

Btw, you ever gonna give me the name or just continue clucking?

Did I make any correlations? Those were just three random questions I had for baseball based on his last post? Is he not able to fight his own battles without you stepping in every time?

It’s a shame that you are willing to continue to thrash the very forum that allows you so much leeway and freedom to say what you want. The same forum that you praise would have no issue kicking you to the curb the second you became a nuisance.

And why are you so hell-bent on names? I’ve answered more questions than your buddy baseball. Let him answer some and then you can have your names-not that you need them as you obviously already know.

If you can’t fight with him, without mentioning me, then don’t complain when I chime in.

I inferred from your series of questions that they were related. Given your long time animosity towards Baseball21 and your recent animosity towards me, it was a logical inference.

In particular, your last question annoyed me. Never have I mentioned having an expert vouch for someone’s accomplishments. You took my statement that there are more experts on the CU forum and twisted it to attack your favorite punching bag. That’s expert level trolling right there as is your quotes of my so called “garbage” a few posts ago.

    Still waiting for the name!

So now you know what I’m thinking better than me. Even more reason for you to just “infer” all the answers that you want.

If you go back to pages 5&6 the argument was just with baseball. Then you felt the need to step back in to comment on the “racism” card. So now you two are basically tied at the hip.
