Some people were saying they received emails from Ebay using the word counterfeit. These emails were sent when Ebay ended someones auction over the new policy.
The plaintiffs listed are <National Numismatic Certification, LLC, ASA Accugrade, Inc., PCI Coin Grading, Inc., Sovereign Entitiesgrading Service, Inc) aka NNC, ACG, PCI, and SEGS. Here is my take on it: Buy the coin and not the holder. Plastic can be purchased at Walmart, aka tupperware. I buy the coin and not the holder. So in my opinion, I see no reason to exclude plastic with these labels on it. The best thing I could recommend to individuals who purchase coins is to learn how to grade. Take the ANA courses, go to shows, get the books, learn from others in the hobby. I expect a return policy from any seller, Ebay or not if the grade is incorrect and does not fall within ANA standards or similar industry standards like PCGS grading guide, Photograde, etc. Once again, for plastic, I purchase it at Walmart and enjoy tupperware, for numismatic endeavors, I purchase the coin, The plastic is a storage device.
I agree with you. They could ban the sale of all coins and that would be the end of that. BUT.... they make tooo much damn $$$$$ off of us to do that!!
Thats the thing that I have always found funny, is that pure investors look for plastic to insulate them against risks associated with improper grading. what they forget is that a grade on a slab is an OPINION. If the buyer has no idea as to how the opinion was arrived at, then they should be buying stocks and bonds, but certainly not coins.
They make money off lots of different company ads. If you just look there are many company's in Coin World I would never buy from. They are not going to bite the hands that feed them
