Me thinks the people you are referring to as “fringe group of elitists” have more knowledge than this entire forum.

It’s okay, you can say their names, you won’t get banned here, and they won’t waste their time by coming to the outcast forum.

    They have more money.

Just because the likes of you and baseball have been brainwashed to accept their propaganda doesn't equate to them having more knowledge than this entire forum.

Really, who on this forum is an expert on....anything, coin related?

Btw, I didn’t see any names in that last post.

Well apparently you're not an expert. Interesting that you're willing to lower your own standing just to thrash the forum and win an argument.

And you seem to already know all the names, so why not enlighten us instead of continuing with your interrogations?

My niche is extremely small, registry quality Jefferson Nickels from 1938-64. Like anyone cares.

Because I think that it all comes back to one person, and I want to see if I’m right.

It's these type of statements that have led many others to leave. It's quite self absorbent and arrogant. To call yourself one is pretty egotistic.
There are many a folk that are experts, and could careless if you call them one.

Actually, it’s the incessant nonsense that you and Doug post that cause people to leave the forum. Guys like Leadfoot, TomB, Mark Feld, Physicsfan and others used to be regular members on this forum. Jason posts here occasionally but if you want to hear from any of the others, you need to go to the CU forum.

Again, if there is an expert in any aspect of US coins on this forum, go ahead and name them.

The 1881o guy (cant remember his name)
    Jackdyoung

I'll throw physicsfan out there but he doesnt count for some reason(?)
    Just to name a few

Disclaimer- they might not REFER to themselves as experts, but i think they qualify

Jack just started posting here this year. Jason rarely posts anymore and we never get the real educational stuff. Paddy54 posts a lot but I have no idea what his expertise is. I don’t know the last guy.

I have never had a conversation with any of those members, What are you trying to prove with this statement? Seems like the first three decided to go hang with like minded folks. Last I heard Physics had some other stuff he was dealing with and had to take a break.

Let me get this strait. These folks left because we have strict grading standards? And It's Non sensical to take that position.
A collector shouldn't strive to buy better coins for the grade?
That we should take the common ground and just go with it?
We should just let the TPG's take our money and then take some more because they didn't get it right the first time?

You might want to blame others for your mis fortune but I can guarantee you it isn't my fault.

Mark Feld is an interesting example. He was banned from the PCGS forum and then chose not to return even if he could.

You haven’t heard of them because you have only been here for 2-3 years and you aren’t a member of the other forums. Doug ran most of them off before you got here, but make no mistake, they were the most knowledgeable core members on this forum. And since Jason still posts here, I will let him answer for himself, but I know why he has backed away as well.

They left because they grew tired of repeating what is generally accepted practices at both of the TPGs. People like you who are so convinced that your way is right, that you won’t even listen to the people who can explain market grading to you. And trust me, the guy who refuses to join the CU forum and learn from true experts in the numismatic world has misfortune.

I think his new job had more to do with his absence on the other forums, though I think he still posts on the NGC forum. What I can say was that he was a valuable asset to this forum, and he no longer posts here.

It's still interesting that he chose to no longer associate with the "best of the best" and instead only post on the NGC forum (which has less activity than most of the other bigger forums).

Have you ever been unjustly banned from an Internet forum? It leaves a bad taste in your mouth. And wasn’t he an NGC grader anyway?

Btw, I am an NGC customer and registry participant but I’m still able to recognize that PCGS is the industry leader.

Yes he worked for NGC but he also worked for David Hall:

"For more than three decades Feld has been an active and important presence in the rare coin business, working for Steve Ivy Rare Coins, Heritage Rare Coin Galleries (and early incarnation of Heritage Auctions), David Hall, Mark Salzberg, NGC, Pinnacle Rarities and as owner of his own numismatic business, Mark Feld Rare Coins."

Why did the experts ban an important member of the coin community-unjustly too? Especially one who had worked for the head guy. Even the "outcasts" here didn't ban him.

Urgent message- It has become apparent that the CU forum is brain washing people through subliminal messaging. They might even be body-snatching members in the wee hours of the morning and replacing them with look-alike drones. I urge everyone to stay away from that propoganda filled, brainwashing, body-snatching forum. If you have an account there, i urge you to delete it, and stay inside of the safe confines of CT.
Stay away from CU members, and loyal PCGS customers until further notice. This has been a public broadcast announcement.

I don’t remember the details, only that he was pretty torqued about it.
