I don’t have to be an expert to see that the coin has been grossly misgraded. Let me take a scredriver to an AU 1797 large cent (an issue I do know well) and see if it straight grades. But no matter, you will say PCGS is right regardless the outcome.

Because you simply want to push that misgraded coin under the rug by trying to demean my opinion when the evidence is PLAINLY OBVIOUS in the pictures, you are just making it clear that you really are taking whatever staws you can to defend your precious PCGS. One does not have to be an expert in 18th-Century US gold to see that. But you have also COMPLETELY evaded the question because you are simply afraid to answer it. So go ahead, explain how the amount of damage is completely acceptable for a problem-free AU-50 grade.

You have also stated you have a financial interest in PCGS, so it is pretty obvious that you have a bias and an agenda.

So you are a 1700 gold expert now as well?

So you don't have to know what you are talking about to try and force opinions got it. Internet experts are the best.

Early gold is it's own animal, people with your attitude get proven wrong with it all the time

No I don't, just making up more garbage as usual I see.

These are not planchet flaws, adjustment marks, strike issues, or anything else that happened at the mint.

So, once again, answer the question: is this completely acceptable for a problem-free AU-50? Your purely evasive answers are strongly diminishing your credibility.

You have evaded this question 3 times now. Are you really that afraid of the answer?

What a disgusting racist acronym. That's pretty childish and disgusting of you to use such a racist term.

He wasn't in charge of PCGS. Don Willis was in charge of PCGS before he quit. CU has more companies than just PCGS. There has certainly been a changing of the guard and a modernization happening.

Are you just circling random things at this point? We don't grade at the 100x magnification some of your circles are at

Aaaaaand evaded a fourth time. Typical.

    ANSWER. THE. QUESTION.

That was an honest question. If you think everything you circled in those was relevant you have so much left to learn.

And evaded yet a fifth time.

Look at the severity of those hits. Looks at the pattern. Look at the uniformity. That damage was clearly intentional and should be considered significant, 100x or not, 1700’s gold or not.

For the sixth time I ask: is this level of damage perfectly acceptable for a problem-free AU-50?

False. 100x or not comment puts you in your own world which is not how grading happens. The I know everything attitude you present has gotten really old though, that's why I stopped helping you a while back. I'm not inclined to start again so have fun the rest of Thanksgiving I'm done with this.

Someone else can explain how things aren't graded at 100x and 1700 gold issues

Call me crazy, but the offending acronym doesn't make any sense in the offending context. Before we go off the deep end perhaps we should consider more likely alternatives such as Narcissist.

    Carry on...

There is a very definitive meaning of it and has been. There is a reason the words weren't spelled out.

Hockey Night In Canada the other widely accepted meaning makes no sense in the context

Actually, calling me a racist, is racist.
You conveniently skipped the part about David Halls relative and his several million dollars in grading fees

    Evaded a sixth time.

I know that coins are not graded under 100X magnification. However, this coin has dozens of significant hits that would be visible to the naked eye. They are obvious, and will be obvious under 100x magnification as well, so the level of magnification is irrelevent. That is what I meant, and what you know I meant, so your attempt to discredit me with that remark is completely ridiculous.

I will open the question up a seventh time, but I highly doubt that I will ever get a straight answer from you. Until you do give a straight answer, I will assume that you secretly agreed with me but are too afraid to say PCGS was wrong to do so.

Don't pigeonhole or play politics with something like this. Just because you understand something to have a very specific meaning does not mean the same holds true for everyone.

You used a known racist term. I'm not going down this sinkhole with someone like you any longer.

Pages and pages of the internet and popular culture, songs, social acceptance all say otherwise. But done arguing about it

No I didn't actually. You've already said completely nonsense about me in this thread.

Anyway I'm getting out of this racist disgusting thread. I'm bored with internet experts trying to play gotcha games and as I said I stopped helping you a while ago and don't feel the need to start again

The first to play the racist card are usually the ones that really have no argument. It’s a shame that some have to read into a post that much and call on racism. Win at all costs and if you can’t just deflect.
