I really wanted to add a Celtic, particularly from the Iceni tribe, while living in England since I was in their territory. Haven't yet satisfied that particular desire. Lovely and interesting coin you have there @panzerman !

Its my second "Wolf" coin, my favorite is this one.... 6f812a00a00909fbf972ced4c11565e5.jpg AV 2 Doppie 1590 Parma Mint 31mm. 13.18g.
Alessandro Farnese 1586-92 Duke of Piacenza
This gifted man would be Philip II best general. Had the Spanish Armada been successfull, he would have finished off Protestant England in a land campaign.

I hope that I did not take your coin, I would feel bad....
I am glad Liz was so nice to allow me to end of March to pay for it. Really nice people to deal with. Strange how the Celtic tribes on the Continent struck rich golden coins....

No, I'm not "in the market" right now. And they are very good to deal with. I ordered an inexpensive coin and they treated me very well. Even sent me a Christmas card and printed catalogs. I lived about an hour away.

Liz is among the great when considering where to buy early British coins. I have always received excellent service.

It seems strangely real. I don’t know how to better describe it, but looking at this coin makes me feel like I’m there with them in their time. A very cool coin I will never own or likely see again, but am glad I got to see it. Thanks for sharing :)

    Sweet. The wolf is cool.

I want a Celtic stater, too.

Gee, I'd really love to be experiencing the Panzerman version of "tapped out of $$$$" :hilarious:
