not myself, no. But with the sheer number of sellers and buyers on Ebay at any given point, bad apples will, and do, arise :(

Only one - but he was a seller. The only negative I have ever given and received. I would not even consider his request to withdraw the negative. Of course that may not be what you mean, so you may want to clarify your statement a little.

I know of one that held an auction, circumvented the rules and wrote in his text he would not honor bids lower than book value (instead of setting a minimum). He then refused to send out a coin to a guy who won his auction and who paid promptly. He then blamed the guy who won the auction for paying promptly, called him a liar, lied and said he DIDNT pay when he revenge neg'd the innocent buyer, then put up such a stink that he bullied the buyer into giving in...is that a bully or a scammer?

lucky for me I have never dealt with such people on ebay...most have been pretty honest as far as I can tell.

    One bully - Seller
Didn't ship, threatened me and used profanity in the email, swapped out the coin when he finally did ship nearly a month later (it was pcgs but a different serial number and ugly coin).
Ebay & Paypal did nothing. Far too much aggravation for a $50 coin but an inexpensive lesson on how to:
    -really read the auction details,
-how to use a credit card to pay rather than bank account,
-how to forget the whole negative feedback thing as that just creates bigger wars,
-how to really look at the feedback and note if the items selling now match the feedback or if it's a hijacked seller
-how to watch auctions and bid low and match my expectations w/the bid

I've never sold anything on Ebay ~ I admire the folks who do it with integrity. Thank goodness there are more of those than the bullys & crooks. But that's everywhere.

Its for the best...after how I saw you treat a custumer and fellow cointalk member, I think you had just been added to quite a few 'do not deal with at all costs because I dont need the hassle and drama' list.

Funny how experiences differ...I have had relatively very few problems on ebay. Lot of good honest people there if you know what and who to look for...and more importantly...who to avoid.

I deal with Ebay quite a bit. But not with coins. I sell and buy Ham radios. Not had the nerve or guts to deal with coins on ebay. Not sure I really want too.

I am not sure what it is with coins.... but it seems to bring out the worst in some people. Thats not to say all are bad.

With radios I have never had a bad experience on ebay.

I've never had a problem on ebay that couldn't be resolved. One time a seller didn't respond to inquiries and eventually said that his roof had leaked and damaged his inventory (trading cards). PayPal got him to refund my money within 24 hours. Another time a seller claimed that the listing had errors after the auction closed and didn't want to sell the item. Those have been my only problems in 10 years.

I know there are scammers out there, but so far, I've been fortunate.

does it matter? would you not have screwed him over if you had known?

So you are pretty much saying that you DID simply not send ben the coin he won. I dont need to know you, I know you by your actions. Ben simply bid, won your auction, then paid promptly, you didnt get the money you wanted for the coin so you decided not to give him his coin...then you lie about him, claim he DIDNT pay and called him a liar when your whole problem with him is that he paid!! imagine that. Do I need to quote you yourself lying?

I can quote you saying that you didnt want Ben to pay and that he did anyway which was the problem...I can then quote your 'revenge' negative feedback saying he doesnt pay...you then made the simply astonishing accusation that Ben was doctoring e-mails from you when he posted your abuse and lame excuses. In that thread you showed yourself as a liar as well as a crook...

So its best that you are not going to be on ebay...you have shown yourself to be...lets say...less than honest and honest buyers who just want to buy coins probably would rather avoid such drama. nuff said from me.

You not delivering a coin you sold at auction is ebays fault? you lying about Ben and bashing him is ebays fault?

You seem to have been on ebay for a good amount of time and should probably know how it works, you have sold quite a few 'grab bags' with the 'possibilty of gold being found!!'...Answer me one last question and I will let this rest...remind me how that whole affair was ebays fault? Just wondering...I know ebay isnt perfect and there are problems there...but just how was this ebays fault?
