Im new to this site so I hope im doing this correctly and if I should of done this differently please let me know so I know in the future. I had some rolls of quarters I was going through and came across the quarter im curious about. The quarter is a 2002 P Louisiana state quarter, it has a green and light goldish color on both the obverse and reverse and on the reeded edge, it has no copper core and has a weight of 5.8g. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Just toned, the copper core sometimes doesn't show and the weight is close enough to be within tolerance.
Thank you very much for all the input, I really appreciate it. Like I said, i'm kinda new to all of this and have other questions about some different coins I have but will post those later. Thanks again for everyone taking the time to look at my post and and help me out.
I checked and it doesn't stick to a magnet. ill attach some different views of the coin if that makes a difference.
I just read about these state quarters, and they are on an experimental planchet. Which actually makes them worth quite a bit of money. Hang on to it.
I've handled numerous Experimental Planchet State Quarters in the past 18 years. This is not one of them, I' sorry to say,.
Sorry, just woke up. I was at two places reading about it, and I have one that's like a gold color. but here is the links to both sites; http://www.error-ref.com/sate_quarters_on_an_experimental_alloy/ and http://www.coinfacts.com/quarter_dollars/50_states_quarters/delaware_experimental.htm
Now I noticed that the 1776-1976 Bicentennial Quarter is of a golden color, but its not the same as my 2004 Florida. Could one of them not be gold plated? Or do they do gold plating in different finishes?
