No date on cent...

    When I hold it at just the right angle, the first digit looks like a 2. Anyway, thought I'd share. The shaded area is not glue, I gave it a bath in acetone. nodateobverse.jpg nodatereverse.jpg

    Would love to see a few more photos of the date with some lighting changes.

    the date would be where the
    surface disruption is - but I can't
    tell from the one photo if it's from
    damage (scraped) or a slight chance
    it's from a filled die.

    Based on the one photo,and the verdigris
    and change of surface texture, I lean
    toward damage.

    It is a 2000 cent. I did take more photos this morning, hopefully a better look at it.

    I agree that this looks very much like a struck through grease coin. I originally thought PMD but don’t see zinc.

    IMO struck January 2nd, 2000. 1st shift. Operator still hungover. Couldn't remember what year it was. How's that for great detail? LOL
