Here is a "Prof David Hall"

I've seen him referred to as Dr. David Hall on a couple of occasions, but it is rare. He never struck me as being able to get a PhD so I assumed it was a mistake or a meaningless honorary degree.

I am sorry for this, but: why put someone down that you have never met, never did anything to you, never harmed you?

I could understand if someone had an ax to grind about dealing with him, but, and I have met him, I have always read that he is honorable in his dealings with others.

I have never put him down, I dont know who he is or care. I have heard of the institution...a PhD from that 'institution' would not be recognized by any other REAL institution of higher learning or lets say...the government or a corporation looking for someone with a real PhD, A person who has done the REAL WORK required. It is one of those places that gives out degrees with minimal work for those who 'dont have the time and money to and would ordinarily be excluded from obtaining such a degree'...its a fast track. nuff said.

I could start a website (and it would at least look a bit more professional than that sad one) and send people essays to write for a few months, give them credit for 'life experience' and hand them a PhD and it would be about the same thing.

Now there ARE people with REAL degrees in numismatics...europe is ahead of us in recognizing it as a legitimate field of learning.
