I think after a decade and a half he knows hes eligible for an upgrade! lol. Im on my 7th cell phone since 1998 and each one was a huge upgrade from the previous one. Im typing this post on my current phone. I got a kick out of this old Nokia. There cant be 10 of them still in operation in the US. lol. Hopefully I havent offended the guy. Im shocked and amazed that it could have even survived, let alone still be in use and working. He must not care for text messaging. Or cameras, hd video, skype, web browsing, e-mail, gps, internet radio, apps and games.
I didn't have any phone photos so I just took these two photos to participate in Lehigh's thread. They are cropped for this post. The phone is a 2-year old windows phone and the coin is a new purchase. I thought this coin was just really (really) sharp & nice looking.
I never used the 8mp camera on my EVO 3D to take pictures of slabbed coins. This is sickening! My cell phone can take better pics than my $170 Canon 12.1 Mp Camera!
I took another photo to see if it could be improved. In this case the camera was positioned much closer to the coin (about 6 inches) & the image is still in good focus.
Just hoping someday someone will tell me it's a mega-dollar one-of-a-kind small-date Proof 1970-S Lincoln.
This was taken with my old Samsung Note 4. I have the Note 8 now. I haven't tried with it yet. 1912 Matte Proof

These are from my Samsung. The first three aren't "straight-on" shots but they captured the details nicely (albeit partially). The fourth and fifth are medals that look good no matter what - even with the lousiest phone camera or photographic skills.
Not professional quality or anything, but definitely adequate for my purposes. (Samsung J327A). It's nice to be able to make simple GIFs, too. Helps with the flashier stuff.
