Tomorrow morning. 7AM examination of lots, bidding begins at 9AM. Over 570 lots of coins. My budget is aching due to some kid needs and some car needs, but it oughta be ripe for a 7070 hole filler or two. Horst Auctioneers in Ephrata, PA. There is a HUGE number of bust halves up, for Overton fans. Real nice run of upper quality Standing Lib 25c, too. My #1 target is an 1854 seated half, (with the circles and the arrows... "You can git anything you want, at Alice's Restaurant...")
I dunno man, most of the gold is between #553 and 559, with a few pieces hanging out just under #100. There's one lonely $5 Indian thrown in there randomly about #300ish. There are literally several hundred rolls of solid date BU Lincolns, though, BU Indian cent singles, BU LibNicks and Buffnicks out the wazoo. BU 1927-S Walker anyone? I don't expect to still be there when they get to #300. There are a FEW slabbed coins in there, but VERY darned few. It's a 90%+ raw auction.
And if you link back to the auctionzip.com site, there's at least a LoRes pic of most lots. If some of those early proof sets have any cameos in them, I won't make it to #100. This auctioneer is famous for his midweek sales. Saturday is a special treat for those of us who still work. Sells literally thousands of guns too.
Mass Tpk western terminus. Mass Tpk is a fair bargain compared to our overpriced money sucking monster in PA.
Exit 1 in West Stockbridge or if you would like some good food first, Exit 2 in Lee and the Morgan House or Salmon Run, downtown.
Sounds like a side trip the next time I'm in the Adirondacks. I'm developing a hankerin' for bobsledding in Lake Placid.
