    Yes, welcome to CT.... At least based on the date I know I didn't do that one. However I was quite guilty of creating quite a few "spooned" coins back in the late 60's.

    There are good coins (broad struck errors that won't have a rim).
    But in this case it looks like intentional damage.

    it was "spooned" (hammered) they were going to make a ring from this coin. punch a hole in the center and grind the rest away and sand it down and then polish it for a ring.
