1986 error Roosevelt Dime??

  1. Hi I am new too coin collecting. I found a really interesting Dime today. It looks to be an error from the mint. Because the edges are formed around the dents and dings around the perimeter on both the obveres and reverse. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

    PMD= post mint damage. not a error.
     
  4. How does the edge strike form around the nics around the dime? The dime is only smooth where the dents are around dime.

    The rim is simply pushed inward from the hit. No possible way for it to have come from the mint like that.

    This is what happens in 32 years out in the wild.. circulation wear and tear! With a bit of human alteration. Only the person that created those dents would know why it looks the way it does :yack:
