Wow! That is full-on Burt Reynolds style, no?? (Sideburns included!)

I believe the technical term is "chevron moustache." A "chevron" is a line in the shape of a V or inverted V (often used in military insignia); ultimately derived from the latin word "caper" meaning "goat." :D

While there are plenty of Severus Alexander portraits sporting both a moustache and a beard, this is the only die I have seen with moustache only. When I saw this example in a recent auction, I had to snap it up! And since today is Movember first, it's the perfect time to post it.

It seems the moustache-only style was extremely unpopular among Roman emperors. Perhaps because it was associated with the "barbarian" Gauls and Germans? Here's Odoacer:

    Maybe this Elagabalus qualifies?

Unclear, because as you know, Severina often has a similar thing goin' on up there on that top lip:

Please post any moustache or quasi-moustache coins you have. If you don't have any, give us some other entertaining facial hair. :artist: (Maybe a neck beard, just for @TIF. :D)

While you're at it, maybe check out your local Movember charity. You could even raise a little dough for them by growing your own mo. Sevvy did! If you need some inspiration, here are the top 70 hottest moustache styles for guys in 2018.

This Gordie III has a boy-man 'stache and a bonus side of jawline whiskers going on.

Awesome! I meant to mention that I thought I'd seen some Gordie staches, but I forgot. That one is a beauty!

    Wonderful 'stache, Sev!

I was unfamiliar with this "Movember" thing. I was also not attuned to the nuances of facial hair and don't seem to have any mustachioed portraits without beards. This is the best I can do:

This is one of my favourite coins of yours. It inspired the following purchase (lacking the cool reverse type):
