First my appreciation to all you paper money guroos out there! I don't participate in this section near as often as I would like to. Whenever I cash in my change from CRH'ing I ask for dollar bills. I am usually on the hunt for something out of the ordinary and this caught my attention. It is what appears to be an ink stain to the right of Washington. I'm wondering if this if from the BEP or if it is something that happened post production. Lingo escapes me for this. I know coins are considered Post mint damage and is BEP correct lingo as well? Obverse & Reverse? Thanks in advance!
Like Rick said it's a tellers stamp. Not all tellers stamps are alike but when you see a long thin line like this it came from a stamp similar to this. Unfortunately it's damaged and not a BEP error.
Thanks guys! I'll put this one back in the spending pool! I am getting in to the paper money slowly. How about the lingo that I had questions about. Is it similar to dealing with coins?
Yes and no. It depends on what it is. Coins would be PMD. Not so with bills. Paper money is just damaged and it's easier to damage paper than a coin.
I'll catch on to the paper craze eventually, it took me long enough to get the coin craze! Thanks for your information!
