What's not to like about this coin? https://www.ebay.com/itm/one-dime-1866/273531587491?hash=item3fafc0cba3:g:FlgAAOSwRrlb1tBi:rk:3:pf:0
Ah. I clicked in after the auction had ended, saw a beat-up 1886 dime for a dollar, and wondered what the fuss was about. I hate this new "why show you what you clicked on when we can try to sell you something else instead" eBay misfeature.
Okay, that was much faster than I expected. I reported just after noontime when first biting into my sandwich.
Yeah, I dislike that too . . . intended as a marketing redirect, it's nothing but a waste of time to me. Maybe others appreciate being taken to other alternatives, but I suspect that, like me, they had the targeted item in their sights because they'd already ruled out all others.
I agree. It's almost as annoying as "user reviews" for coins -- "gosh, this 1881-S Morgan looks terrible, and all the reviews said they were great!" It's not just coins. IMHO, eBay's recommendation and substitution algorithms are not suited for collectibles, period.
