Have never purchased from MA-shops before; was referred to them by another thread. Here's the coin in question: https://www.ma-shops.com/sesambestcoins/item.php?id=41323&lang=en&ref=favUser It's not an expensive coin, so at this price, it's probably genuine, but thought I'd ask here anyway. Is it legit? The seller's Paypal email address ends with "@bluewin.ch", which is a domain registered in Switzerland (which I suppose makes perfect sense).
I use MA-shops regularly and have never had an issue. The thing to keep in mind is that it is similar to Vcoins. It is just a network of dealers. It seems like they are all larger established dealers (IMO).
I have made many purchases from MA Shops. Never any problems, fast shipping and what a wonderful selection they have too.
Your coin looks ok to me. I am sure there are exceptions but generally forgeries (at least modern forgeries - there can be contemporary forgeries) are not common among European minors of this period. It would not be very profitable.
That looks like a typical contemporary counterfeit from that time period and region. Cast and silver washed. You can see some remaining white/silver color in the fields, particularly in the first photo. Very cool and much more interesting than a genuine coin
