What's the oldest wheat cent you've found in circulation? You can post a picture of it as well, if you want. Oldest Wheatie I've found was a 1910 when looking through change.
I've found at least 5x 09P's in my searches. Including 1 pretty rough VDB. Here's one of the nicer 09P's:
Well, since I started in 1948, I was still finding Indian Heads. But the oldest Wheat Cent would be a 1909 VDB.
1909, another old geezer here who started in 1949. But the oldest U.S. coin I've ever found in circulation was dated 1853. A&R half dollar. Kind regards, George
1909 when I was just a kid using single digits as my age. (They were still making wheats at that time). I've also found several Indian Head Cents too.
1909 P and VDB. The two 1909's I have found are both the oldest in my collection. I found the 1909 VDB in a crazy hunt... I got a box of pennies, with absolutely NOTHING good in it until the before last roll. The second to last roll had a 1909 VDB, 1917, 1926, five 30's, and some 40's and 50's to make it a total of 43 wheat pennies in a 50-coin roll. The last roll was quickly opened as I hoped to get the same results, but instead the hunt ended with a BU 1958-D. Probably never going to top that ever in any of my other hunts.
All great finds. The BEST find I ever had in change was a Twenty Cent piece. It was given to me back in the 50's in change as 25 cents. I had to bring the change to my Mother. It would be 5 cents short and she would know it. She forgave me and told me to put it in me collection.
The oldest cent I ever found searching boxes (and I searched a lot) was at least one 1910 cent and quite a few from the teens. I found like 5 1919s cents within a short period of time for some reason. This was between 2009-2012.
