1996 p quarter die crack ?

    No, it looks like a die crack traveling from the U/UNITED through the wing and down through the eagles head.

    A rather striking crack, to me, but don't get your hopes up on value. Die cracks do not automatically lend value or premium to a coin. However, they do serve as die markers and help identify and attribute varieties.

    Egregious die cracks ( i.e., really large, long and spectacular) can generate interest by collectors who are attracted to them, but the attraction and subsequent worth are in the eye of the beholder.

    I agree it is a die crack. It is very common to find them along that wing on WQ's. This one would go in my die crack tube of keepers.
