I'm sure that after they "clean up the label" you will want to share a one finger salute with them.

maybe because they are embarrassed by the mistake?

    Here were the exact words

“we will work with management to get some free grading vouchers mailed to you”

Basically the wording wasn’t we will give the vouchers, but we will work on it. Which to me is just a generic statement and not an actual promise.

Too much corporate language from a coin grading company. And, if they don't give you anything in return for re-assessing it (no vouchers), just let them deal with their embarrassment. ;)

With an invalid certification is it still even worth a quarter?

I hope PCGS doesn't have your address:

I have a Texas Commem, in an old green holder, that is not listed in their data base. Seems that they lost a lot of info when they did upgrades and such to their system. I posted over on CU the question of what to do? Many answers were to contact customer service, and they'll just re-label the coin. When I inquired, they wanted the slab back, wanted to crack it out and put in a new holder........ No thanks I said. I'll leave it be........

So as you can see they really want my address. :D

And they really want to work with me but probably not before management approves it. :p

I don't know. I think it'll be less interesting five or ten years down the line, after they've decided to start giving numeric ratings on all details coins.

Especially when we're on the 100 point scale, then all old grades will be null and void. :D

It’s not worth all that much as is anyways. It’s an extremely common coin with artificial toning.
The label screw up is probably worth more than the coin itself.

Because obviously everyone makes mistakes and on a percentage basis all the others are much worse. Plus NGC/ICG/Anacs wouldn't have even offered free shipping, right? And poor Larry is still in hiding.

Interestingly enough, almost no one guessed AT on here or on CU.

Of course! So, if you want to have your coin graded based on the new scale, you will have to send it back to PCGS!

I would definitely use the free grading vouchers. 3 or 4 would deal the deal for me.
