Two JC Denarii for maybe a 10th of what they're worth if real ... I highly doubt I've been this lucky, but from a trading perspective, the risk:reward ratio was just too good! Way out of my league, but to me the degradation and wear look very natural. On other hand, the flans seem way too round, strikes well centered (even ignoring the ridiculously low price I paid). What's the verdict? Are these fakes?
Ouch.......... Nothing fake about the US Mint, except it don't exist to ancient guys. Never happened......the past is present.
@Kentucky @Jwt708 damn it @wcoins Seller is in Europe and middle of the night there so doubt he's shipped yet ... half tempted to wait til I have them before lodging a dispute so I can see first hand what a cast fake looks like
Since you're now reasonably confident that they're fake and want to see what they look like in person I'd just keep them as replica examples. Otherwise, it's just a waste of the seller's money to send them to you from Europe only for you to lodge a complaint and force a refund from a seller who may not know they're not original.
I've decided to just save myself the hassle and request a cancellation, but neither the seller's wallet or time were even a minor consideration. I think he's more than aware his coins are fakes.
I have trouble mustering up sympathy from those who bid knowing the items are fake and the fact that no one outbid your 1/10th value should have been a tip off. Coins are either real or fake. There is no such things as odds that makes a fakes a better deal unless they are cheap enough that you want them for the education. These are pretty nice at $5 each.
