This is my first found in the wild and I believe my only cud Lincoln cent! Feel free to pile on your cud coins! Unless you’re the one who outbid me on that 1866 2 cent coin two days ago.
He has some more coins to add, that I'm going through for him . Here's a wexler #6 Here's a nice 43 DDR I just started on for him .
Great find for the wild! I don't think I've found more than two true cuds in pocket change, since I was a collector, starting almost 60 years ago. A rare occurrence - rarer than finding a doubled die coin of any denomination.
I’m pretty stoked. I still have a lot of coins to go through. I’m pretty sure I won’t find a gem like that again, but I wouldn’t complain.
You’ll have to clarify this whenever you start the actual thread. We are the only two people in on that secret thus far!
I too have found two cuds in my coin collecting lifetime. I found one of these cud cents while roll searching in 1969 https://www.cointalk.com/threads/1969-s-with-large-base-of-bust-cud.325308/#post-3212678 (Yep, that used to be your coin Fred). Subsequently a few years ago, I found a cud quarter in change from the corner coffee shop. I'm pretty sure that I posted it at CT.
I'm new to collecting and I have just found one almost similar to this coin. Should I send it to be graded?
