Make Up & Define a New Numismatic Term that is Badly Needed

    JCro57 Making Errors Great Again

Anyone remember "Sniglets"? A singlet is a term that should be in the dictionary, but isn't. For example, I made up the term "gym-poster" which is a "person who lies about working out when they never do."

Well, here is my coin term which I feel the hobby needs: "MS-13: (a) A coin someone cracked out of a slab because it was attributed as being damaged, but is now for sale as a raw 'clean' example to an unsuspecting and uneducated buyer, or; (b) a stolen coin for sale." (For those who don't know, MS-13 is a Latin street and prison gang).

    Let's hear yours!

I've been calling those BS-63 (or whatever number) for a while now.

There's also the (large and common) class of errors known as Misaligned Expectations...

    "Uncircle-ated".

Any shiny or nearly shiny coin available online or on TV.

It doesn't have circular grooves etched into it.

If anyone has noticed I have been using my made up terminology on Damaged Coins which is the following.. DD - Definitely Damaged

I have been thinking of using the following word.. DEFDAM which also means and is short for Definitely Damaged

What the heck is this coin doing in this holder?! (Usually for obviously artificially toned coins or coins with unbelievable grades)

I’ll try to come up with better ones tomorrow. First go:

Numisnutist (“numnut” for short) = someone who doesn’t know much about coins and refuses to heed reasonable advice from numismatists who earnestly tried to help.

Numismatheorying (“nuthing” for short) = made up stories numisnotists create to explain the impossibly rare error coin they have, that is just damaged.

Not going to google either sniglet or singlet. Nope. Not going to do it.

Rent-a-grade: When grading standards or interpretations of grading standards change, send your coins in along with a rent check.

    I have one..
Double Die :dead::dead: - You should take that coin (which is not a Doubled Die) and shoot it twice and put it out of its misery!

Then it would be called a Double Died!
