    With such a significant variety, please don't make this any more difficult than necessary or overthink it. To put it simply: if you had said variety, you'd know it.

    Am I correct in saying there is no 1969-S DDO-003 but there is a
    1969-S 1DO-003 which is really the same as 1969-S WDDO-002

    Yes you could say that, it is semantics of the different sites. Some ignore the minor ones and others glorify even tiny nicks. DO = Doubled Obverse, DDO = Doubled Die Obverse, WDDO= Wexler clssification of DDO, CDDO= Crawford's classification of DDO, FS# different,, etc.

    Its mainly advertising of the site as the same coin could have different numbers only because whoever was second to enumerate it had already used the number ( although some were withdrawn when they were wrong). Sellers can often mislead by picking and choosing which designation they find more profitable though misleading.
