I agree with @Joy Matherne. I see no doubling of any kind on your coin, just circulation wear-and-tear. It does have a filled D mintmark (chipped die), which is a common occurrence. Also, I was unable to find a listing for any 1979 D DDO's. That's almost 40 years and no DDO varieties for that date and mint have been discovered, as far as I'm aware, so it would be very unlikely that you would find one.

Hello.. And welcome to CoinTalk. I hope you don't feel bad in saying this but it's impolite to hijack someone else's thread. Try to create your very own unique thread with your own title, pictures and questions.

I have about 20 of these coins, this was the only that looked this way, thats why it stood out. I liked seeing yours I have a 1972 D mint that has a line similar to yours. Its cool seeing what everyone has and like you said putting our heads together to see if they're worth anything.

Welcome to CoinTalk, I look forward to seeing some interesting posts from you. To help you advance in your studies about doubling, if you haven't already, go to John Wexler's website:

doubleddie.com...and read the sections on "How dies are made" and "Worthless doubling". These 2 sections should be considered a prerequisite for all new CT members (imo), since it will help you in identifying the common, non-valuable damage and doubling you are going to find 99% of the time.

    Hope this helps.
