Just checking some Morgan VAMs and was hoping for some conformation from here.

    VAM 1-B Clashed E?

From what I can see on my cell phone driving at midnight ( don't try this at home )
I'm going to say negative on that one. One of the first things the experts look for is a die crack that runs right through the middle of the date.
I'm not seeing that die crack on your example and I don't see the partial E under the tail feather either.
This is a particular vam that I and a bunch of others have been looking for, for years.
It's a moon money coin and would be considered a landmark event if you found one

Not VAM 1B. Even without being able to really get a good look at where the clashed E would be, I don't see other clashes that should be there, specifically Liberty's profile inside the left wreath, and the cotton bolls below the eagle's left wing.

Also, the die crack in the date connects the centers of the two 8s on VAM 1B.

Ya as messy desk previously mentioned the die crack runs right through the center of the 8s between the loops almost dead nuts Center I don't see it on your coin

Your coin looks to have a clash mark on the reverse field between wreath and wing below "E" in America. I have a 1887 that also has this "mark".

The date position on your Morgan is a hair too far left to be a VAM 1B. My guess would be VAM 3A, probably LDS.

Is the line running above the M to the I in America the die crack? I just purchased a lot of Morgans and want to know what to look for. Thanks
