Just got home, 10,000 calories later Had roast duck with stuffing/ mashed potatoes/ gravy/ white asparagus in a white sauce. Raspberry torte for dessert!
That looks great @panzerman Tomorrow will be my family's Thanksgiving meal. On the menu: Bacon roasted Turkey (mmmm....bacon) Yams Potatoes carrots Acorn Squash Green beans Corn Spiral ham with pineapple Homemade cranberry sauce Pumpkin pie Apple crumble pie
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! Looks awesome @panzerman! Tomorrow we're eating Turkey stuffed with cooked grains, and its own liver, and also a pasta bechamel. Throw in a humongous salad to boot, and it will be a very thankful thanksgiving.
"Thanksgiving" comes around down here next month, of course. But tonight my wife and I enjoyed an Indian buffet. I tried a dozen or more dishes -- as I told my wife, "I figured I'd try lots of different things, and go back once I narrow it down to the ones I like best, but there's no narrowing happening!" It's our 28th anniversary. Many thanks are being given.
Sounds yummy! I will be working tomorrow to burn off all of todays calories Monday, I will be thinking of Kunker Ancient coin auction while blowing leaves/ got 4 bids going.....
We make stuffing/ fry up 1 pound of fresh chicken livers/ along with a onion cut up into tiny bits/ fry until brown. Then cut up fried livers into little pieces. Take one whole wheat bread, cut up into 1/2 " cubes. Put liver/ onions/ bread pieces into a large bowl, add 3 cups of chicken stock. Mix with hands, add sage/ marjoram/ rosemary/ poultry seasoning. Stuff this into duck/ goose/ turkey close back ends with skewers. Place bird into oven. The dressing is to die for! John
John, that sounds incredible! Especially the seasoning. Our turkey is in the oven right now, almost done.
That's right.......you Canadian folks got the Thanksgiving part right. Thanksgiving in October (right after the harvest) makes more sense than the end of November in the States. Hope yours was lovely John......
Thanks for the beautiful image and description. I feel stuffed just viewing same. With my less than 1500 calories/day diet, my blood sugar would be virtually uncontrollable after having that meal, but they'd close the coffin on a broad smile. That sure sounded "scrumptious". I've appreciated your shared experience. ENJOY!
I just checked Kunker site this morning, it seems I won the AV Canti Quarter Stater "Allen's man" for 260 euros in EF, it is extremely rare in Rudd catalogue. I lost the Boii 1/24 Stater. Will check my other two bids when I get home from work later. John
Yeah, when we emigrated to Canada, I picked the Yankees since they were the best team then, still are today. 27 World Series titles and counting
