I have a coin picture included, that looks as if it was a planchet but it has a 1859 or so image stamped on it on one side, the edge is smooth and it looks as if it has not been stamped on one side. Anyone have an idea
It a coin with very heavy wear. It was struck once. Not really worth anything in the condition it is in.. Whatever it is.
Go to: numista.com You can do an advanced search where you put in the year and diameter of the coin. It’s probably safe to put in Cu for the metal. That’ll narrow down things significantly. Let us know what you come up with! @ldhair
Here's what it looks like normally, before all the wear https://www.ngccoin.com/price-guide...r-km-2186-1858-1881-cuid-1049750-duid-1221500
This type wasn't made in 1869, if you don't zoom in on the pics you can sort of make out the top of a 1.
Could certainly be '59. Definitely one of the two. Pareidolia always at play with these things of course
Well friends I appreciate the info, I'm new to this and really thought it was cool to find in pennies, specially if it isnt United states currency, I think I'll find a sleeve to pit it in and add to my collection. Also I think I found my home for all things money talk. I hope to get to know you all
That's a cool find sadly its not really worth anything but I would still keep it all things considered
