1909-S VDB 1909-S 1914-D 1924-D 1931-S Anyone know the best place to purchase nasty hole filler coins for these? I have a harris folder I am filling. I really do not want to sink a lot of bucks into a coin to press into a cardboard folder. Lincoln cents are not my cup of tea anyway. I suppose I could just leave them empty and move on to something else...
There was a nasty 14-D on here the other night, OP was looking to move to get a better one......Excuse my memory on the OP name
Try posting in the open forum. You may find someone with a nasty old 24-D or 31-S cheap or for trade.
steal them. no no, dont take my advice! But you could probably, as someone else said, post in the open forum,. Or try EBay, but look for a bad one... lol
buy reproductions or known altered coins for the 14-d and the s vdb and you can get fillers for the rest off ebay or check around some of the local shops in your area for ag specimens and damaged coins
The 24-D. 09-S and 31-S are not too bad (price - wise) buy them now while they are "cheap" - you will be glad you did. the 09-S VDB and the 14-D are going to cost alot of coin no matter what - they are rare in all grades. Again - buy them now. They will be more expensive next year.
Totally agree, but I have to find that S VDB that I found with my metal detector. Gotta be worth something now.
True - there are no sure things in this world - but key date cents have always done well. (The mint ain't making any more of them)
Thats why I asked my wife for (and got) a metal detector for Christmas. I can't wait for the snow to melt!
I think that "craze" for the svdb has been going on for about 99 years now. As far as Ive heard....they're not making any more of them. 1909 S VDB PCGS MS66RD Pop 163 9 higher
The craze for the 1909-S VDB has been going on for almost 100 years lol doubt it's going away any time soon.
