Normally this would have been a good hunt. But the first 4 spots which were always open are now permanently locked. One of them the lock wasn't closed, but I didn't get that much anyway. Had a 12 quarter cluster/spill. But I am not happy.
Man what a day!!! I didn't find many coins but the nice silver ring made up for it. I got a weird signal under a tree beside some train tracks and it was nice and solid but a double beep. It was a nice solid ring so I figured it was a couple of coins together. As soon as I put my trial into the dirt too nice quarters popped up. So I started hitting this area real slow. About a minute into this I got a real nice solid hit and about 6in down it just popped out. This is my 3rd ring and all of them have been real. Very happy!!! I love this hobby so much. Happy hunting guys!
Nice ring Richard. When I hit a silver ring, sometimes it sounds like a dime, only better. So when it pops out, I know it's silver. Good one.
Yeah dimes on my machine are strange sounding sometimes, but like you said its a little better, more solid.
I lucked into the one I found, didn't even have to dig for it. After the rings my real goal now is a gold or silver necklace. Has anyone ever found a gold or silver necklace bured??
Not buried. But the large silver chain on the left was completely under the wood chips near some exercise equipment. 58.4 grams.
That's awesome Mike!! So many rings. I have 3 now,1 gold and 2 silver. I don't think I posted the others? I'll take a quick pick of the gold one. My wife wanted it because it has mom carved into the band.
Cool is it 14K? I only have 4. Upper right quadrant of photo. Looking to getting a ring board like Paddy has. 3 are 10K and 1 is 14K. Because sometimes, things are stamped, and they aren't real. But usually you can tell. Like if the ring weighs heavy cause gold is dense. Always check the edges with a loupe for plating. Cause that's an area where it will wear off. I have 2 things stamped 925 and 2 things stamped 14K and they are bogus. I have others that are stamped plated. Usually the stamp will be correct, but not always.
It's real,I took it to Marrs jewelry to make sure. But most of the time like you said you can just tell by the weight and hand feel. My wife was with me when I found this at a local soccer match. My brother referees and let me come after most of the games were over.
I stopped off to get some fruit, quarter on the ground where I parked the car. Not pictured as I was off the clock. 11 jars of 400 quarters each.
