2000000001006589.jpeg 2000000001006591.jpeg I have a 1795 Draped Bust Dollar that has been offered to me for purchase. I have some concerns with its authenticity and was looking for advice and opinions on whether this coin is real. Thanks in advance for any help!

It screams fake to me; the edge looks very off. You should not buy coin with that kind of value unless it’s been certified, or until you can unequivocally determine authenticity at first glance. I’m not sure who’s trying to sell you this fake coin, but I’d stay away from them.

It's not silver. It's made out of Chinesium. Fake.

Hard to tell from photos. 99% of such offers turn out to be fakes. If he owns a coin shop or has a 50k collection there is a chance it’s real. Experts will come on soon for help. Welcome to Coin Talk

Friend, heed the advice of those above. This one would be best left alone.

Is Chinesium on the periodic table yet?

While it's good you had concerns regarding authenticity, with all due respect you really shouldn't even be considering such coins unless you have the ability to properly authenticate them on your own.

That said, you'd be wise to end the discussion with the individual trying to sell it, post haste.

Books, thanks for the advice. I agree, I am no expert. I usually only purchase graded coins and rarely buy raw.

You're a wise man to be able to both acknowledge and accept your own personal limitations, sir. Unfortunately, this type of honesty is sorely lacking today. Kudos to you.

    Welcome to the forum.

The color and the rims are the first two things that jumped out to me as fake.
