i purchased today a 1960 proof set. the envelope has been opened but the coins are still sealed in. my question is should i leave the coins sealed in or should i open it and put them in holders or something thanks
Well, alot of people end up removing the coins from the mint sets to sell individually. Ive always figured it was a good idea to leave the coins in the set. Someday its going to be hard to find mint sealed sets once everyone else removes their coins.
I have both the small and large date proofs. They will stay in their mylar packages - the way i like them. I haven't really scoped them for potential grading. I've always found the grades for older proofs to be somewhat confusing. i.e. how do they decide/distinguish between plain, cam, and dcam?
on further examination it appears to contain the ddo dime should i send the set to get it graded and put in a holder to keep it together or just leave it alone
Jon did you leave with Dak or Pupa:goofer: http://www.cointalk.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=23745&stc=1&d=1198874105
i have attributed the ddo error to pr-1-0-II-C . I am glad i found the right one. there are about 19 diff ones
